Learn to Embrace Tree Service: A Tree Blog

Welcome to my blog. My name is Sarah, and right now, I can see my favourite tree from my window. A few years ago, it was ailing, but I learned everything I could about tree health and nurtured her back to abundance. In this blog, I plan to write all about tree care, from the basics you can do on your own to knowing when to call a professional. My love of trees grew out of my love for gardening and landscaping, and I may write about those topics as well. I hope that you like my blog and that it inspires you. Thanks for reading!

Reasons to Opt For Stump Removal

Diana Jones

Although trees are a great addition to any yard, when they become too big for the space available or start decaying, you will need to enlist tree removal services post haste. This is to avoid any inconvenience from your tree such as blocking of sunlight, low hanging branches and more. However, some homeowners may opt to have the tree removal specialists simply cut down the tree and not completely eliminate the stump. You may think that this stump is harmless but it can also bring about its own complications over time. Here are some of the reasons why you should opt for stump removal from the professionals.

Tree stumps can be hazardous

There are a number of ways that tree stumps can prove hazardous to your home. For one, over time moss and plants growing around it may camouflage them. This makes them harder to notice and can easily trip up children when they are playing in the yard. Serious injuries also mean paying money in medical bills when you could have easily avoided the situation by having the stump removed. Alternatively, if one of your neighbours is to be injured on your property due to your neglected tree stump, you may be liable for their medical bills too! Lastly, a camouflaged tree stump can also wreak havoc on your lawn mower if you hit it unknowingly. Overall, it is better to have it taken out during tree removal rather than wait for an unfortunate incident to force your hand.

Tree stumps promote the growth of new trees

In general, opting for tree removal typically means you no longer want any more trees growing in your yard. However, when you opt to leave the stump, then you leave room for the growth of additional trees. This is because the roots of the stump could inadvertently end up sprouting. Hence, you will be left with a situation where there are smaller trees growing around the tree stump and this could make your yard look unsightly. In addition, the unwarranted trees that are growing tend to finish nutrition from any plants that could be growing in close proximity to them. To avoid all this, it is better to have the entire stump uprooted when having the tree cut down.

Tree stumps promote pest infestations

One thing to note is that trees will take a significant period of time to fully decay. During this period, the stump will be a perfect breeding ground for a variety of pests such as termites, beetles and a myriad of wood-boring insects. These could eventually make their way into your home as their numbers increase. Opting for stump removal will ensure that your home is not susceptible to unnecessary pest infestations.
